I have a router and want to connect my printer to my home network. That way I can print from my laptop. I do not want to spend a lot of money. So is there some sort of cable that can help me. I have a Lexmark X4270 by the way.

No the wiring is diffrent, Phone cables have 4 wires and an RJ-11 end, while Eithernet cables have 8 wires and an RJ-45 end.

Besides the printer won't run off the router anyway, it has to be plugged into the computer, you can wireless share a printer though.

You can take an ethernet cable and crimp a phone connector onto 4 of the wires on one end. Of course, nothing will work on it. If you have a network why do you need to do anything?
Just share the printer.

What relation does a phone plug have to a printer connection? Connect the printer normally to a pc and set it up as shared.

The phone end is an RJ-11, it has two wires. The Ethernet end is an RJ-45, it has eight wires. What you need is called a media converter. Ask at Radio Shack.

A simpler solution is to buy a cheap hub that has both phone and Ethernet port. Connect both the router and printer to it.

No, and what would you need a cable like that for?
There is to my knowledge any use for this in any application I am aware of.
