OK. Basically, I have an IBM Thinkpad laptop. It has had its problems but I've fixed most of those with updated drivers. Everything was working fine and all of a sudden my touch pad stopped working. I reinstalled the drivers and tried a few things and none of them seem to work. When I use an external mouse, it works.
Please help and thanks

I have a cord for cable internet I'd like to plug into my computer at home, but my computer is rather outdated and will only accept the smaller phone cord size. Is there anything I can buy that I can plug the cable line into, and have it convert into a regular phone cord to plug into my computer? If so, what is it called and where can I get one?

My new laptop (woo) came with an AMD Turion 64 X2 processor and 32 bit Windows Vista

Does the 64 mean that its 64 bit and could technically run 64 bit Windows?

Thanks :)

I have a AMD Dual Core 4200+ (2.2ghz), and I was wondering is there any need to upgrade it? Would a new processor really make a huge difference gaming since I already have a dual core?

I don't need a TV Tuner, DVD burning, or editing software. Simply want to transfer VCR tapes and analog camcorder tapes to my comp (Windows XP) through a USB for uploading purposes. What product is the best for the least cost?

it doesn't matter if i have a program up, or IE, or mozilla. i can't even right click on my icons at the desktop or when i'm writing anymore.

i had this problem once before & i rebooted the computer from a previous timestamp. it worked briefly.

i tried it this time around, & have had no success. the mouse works fine & i clean it frequently.

any advice for me people?

I'm looking at building a dual-display setup with two widescreen 19" monitors, which have a native resolution of 1440x900. Does the maximum supported resolution of my video card (dual-head) need to simply exceed the monitor's native resolution, or double it?

If I really need 2x the desired resolution of each monitor, what cards are capable of this?

I the the Nvidia 7600GT states a maximum resolution of 2560x1600- that means two screens at 1280x800 but that's not high enough to even handle two regular 17" screens at 1280x1024, let alone dual widescreens...? Same with the ATI Radeon X1600XT.

Should I be looking at the Nvidia Quadro line? I noticed the FX1400 is discontinued- any idea what model has replaced it?

This is for business apps not gaming, so I'm not interested in super frame rates for 3D games- just sufficient resolution to drive a pair of 19" widescreen monitors. Ultimately I will have 4 monitors, so each card must drive 2 displays.

Thanks!

I have a 250GB external USB hard drive. It came formatted to the FAT32 filesystem, but I need to store files over 4GB on it. My question is, does anyone see any problem in converting the drive to the NTFS file system?

Several years ago we upgraded my family's PC from Windows ME to XP and I was able to convert the computer's C:\ drive from FAT32 to NTFS in place with the CONVERT DOS command, without losing any data. Will it work converting my external USB hard drive this way? Will it hurt anything?

Thanks.

if one of the ink cartridges is empty them it won't let me print anything. even if i dont need the color from that cartridge.
(it's epson R260 printer with 6 different catridges-5 colors and one black)
yeah i think this is the problem... is there any way around it?
my black ink is the one that is out. so i tried making the font like a really dark blue. and it's just not doing anything.
would there be any other way to print other than buying a new cartridge?
thanks.

I need a new pc but don't have a whole lot of money to work with. Also, I don't have a credit card or a checking account, so some place that will hold my order until they receive my money and will let me send a money order would be perfect.

Hi, I have a huge problem.

My computer recently always turns itself off (crashing, I think what people call it). I tried to empty the tray by the clock on the right hand corner but it still crashes after 20 minutes...it doesn't crash if the pc doesn't do anything. The weird thing is, after it shuts itself off, I can't turn it back on again by pressing the power button...

What should I do?
