I have a Pentium II Gateway computer with 400 MHz and 128-258 MB of DIMM RAM Memory for Windows XP Professional Edition. I noticed that when I run photo editor it takes time to startup, and it edits pictures so slow. I also noticed that windows cannot multitask. Do I need more memory if so what would you suggest?

I am trying to hook a SHARP AL-1041 copier to my PC at work to use as the printer. The copier has ONLY a LPT connector. There is no place for a USB. My PC has NO LPT port to connect it to. Is there anyway that this can be done? We are trying to use the copier to save on the number of ink cartidges that we use with the printer. Thanks for anybody that can offer any help to me.

Fpr offices they invented paper shredders for documents with data you'd prefer not be read by anyone in the future. What do I do to my old Cd's and DVD's that I no longer need but want make sure they are unreadable by potential snoops?

Break them up into pieces? Scratch the face?
or is there another way that a business handles these old hunks of plastic?

I have two computers that are probably ten years old. One doesn't have an OS. I was wondering if I could use parts to plug it into my new computer and use it as a external hard drive or maybe a USB flash drive type of thing. Or perhaps i could plug the whole thing into my laptop and I don't know. Have any ideas what i could do with these two computers would be great.

It is around 5 years old with a Athlon 1800 processor. I get a blue screen with a bad pool caller message and at the bottom a great long technical message. I have changed the hard disc and also the power supply unit but it is better but still not right - the cpu tempeature is 55 degress which should be fine so has anyone any ideas how I can narrow down what the problem might be, remember it seems to be worse when it is warmer?

I have deleted the file 'Display.cfg' from Flight Simulator X directory to avoid the video card warning since my video card has only 16MB of memory and the game runs successfully on my PC having 256MB of RAM. Anyone please tell me whether it is safe for my video card to run the game with higher memory requirement? Can the game damage my video card? It's S3/VIA Unichrome IGP card with DirectX supported. Actually the game requires a 32MB Video Card.

Someone gave me their old computer as a gift. It's a Compaq Presario that used to have Windows `95 before they removed it. Now it has nothing except a dos prompt. There's no homepage or start menu. It has a Pentium (1) processor. I was considering installing a newer version of Windows to use it for offline purposes only. I'm not sure if I would need a startup disc in order to install anything.

I recently bought a Leadtek 7600GT AGP 8x DDR3 256MB graphics card and installed it on a MSI K7N2 Delta - 2 LSR mainboard.

The problem is for games such as battlefield 2, the game hangs before i can start play while it's optimizing the geometry and shades, etc. The 2nd time i tried it the blue screen came up saying a screen dump.

I have changed the settings to "high" and set the resolution to 1024 x 768, but i can never seem to get the game to work under my new graphics card.

I've tried with a lower settings such as 800x600 on the new card but the game would hang again while optimizing geometry, shades, etc.

I've tried changing the AGP Aperature size back from 256MB back to 128MB on the new card but it didn't work either.

I'm also running on a AMD sempron 3000+ with 2 x 512MB of RAM.

I've already updated to the latest graphics driver from Nvidia website and my BIOS is up to date as well.

Could anyone identify the problem? Thx in advance
