I am trying to hook a SHARP AL-1041 copier to my PC at work to use as the printer. The copier has ONLY a LPT connector. There is no place for a USB. My PC has NO LPT port to connect it to. Is there anyway that this can be done? We are trying to use the copier to save on the number of ink cartidges that we use with the printer. Thanks for anybody that can offer any help to me.

Only a few printers can be used via more than one computer at a time. When your usb is plugged in you pc lpt port is disabled and vice versa. A Better option for you would be to connect your printer to your home network. It is entirely safe.

You can purchase an LPT to USB cable at Rad Shack, or Staples. I just bought one for my old printer to connect to my new PC. It was about $15 as I recall.

Hope this helps.

How new is your PC that it does not have a parallel port? Really there is no 25pin female connector. I'm surprised.
