Proper air circulation is mentained.
It's not run 4 or 5 hrs continuously, it's like 1.5 hrs three times daily.

mine runs all the time 4 years now
but check these options
start up options


start up options - hibernate - shut down -screen saver password
go to start at bottom of screen in blue bar (task bar)
go to control panel
choose power options
choose never to all listed there or the settings you want
choose apply then choose ok
if you want to hibernate
then choose hibernate
click advanced choose hibernate
then click hibernate
click enable hibernate
make sure you click apply and ok to everything
also click advanced tab choose show icon on desk top
then you can push power button
windows will close
push button again and you are where you was again
computer does not have to do all that work again
password protected screen saver is good
i use it my self
do this by
close all windows
right click on open area of desk top
choose properties
choose screen saver
choose password protect on resume
this will be your password as you are the administrator
be sure to set the time for screen saver to come on
or and
press the windows key logo + L at the same time located on the key bord
(hear is what logo picture on keyboard looks like)

this will lock it. when you unlock it will ask for password
this will be your password as you are the administrator

You bought it use it - don't worry about it - this is certainly not abnormal use.
My stepson had a desktop that he left on 24/7 for 8 years and never replaced a thing in it.

Our laptops usage is 8 to 10 hours a day,but we use cooling fans.Keep your manufacture warranties and be happy

no just make sure u run it on the battery until it fully charges then run it off the battery till it runs low again and so on and so on. This helps the battery last longer doing complete cycles.

if you dont load up the hard drive to where nothing cant save no more then you have a problem but if you dont it will run ok.
