i had some photographs on my pen drive. i can no longer open it. they dont get displayed when i open the pen drive. some word documents get displayed though. maybe some virus etc. how do i retrieve these lost files

well i have used this software and its really awesome, it can recover files from removable storage device which is damaged.. or if it has an error. its called isobuster. you can download it from www.download.com.. just go to the site and search for it..

Open a command prompt.
Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt
type the drive letter in the command prompt followed by a colon (:). It should look like
K:
where K is your pen drive then hit enter.
You should then see something like K:\>
type
RECOVER *
It might not work the first time, but it should tell you what you have to do from there to make it work.

This should work assuming the files not deleted.

install a data recovery software and retrieve the lost data.

data recovery proggies are really useful...try to download one and try it out....thats the best you can do at this time
