I don't need a TV Tuner, DVD burning, or editing software. Simply want to transfer VCR tapes and analog camcorder tapes to my comp (Windows XP) through a USB for uploading purposes. What product is the best for the least cost?

You need a device that will go from the output of your VCR to your USB port. Then you need something like Roxio or some other video software that will "capture" the raw images from the VCR into a .MOV file or some other dvd-compatible file format. Then you can burn to a DVD, or just watch on your computer monitor.

Good luck.

You mean, you are attempting to plug in a camcorder (with mini dv casette) and attempting to play it from abode windows media participant? It doesnt paintings with the aid of fact, your media participant can play a digital format document saved on your difficult disk or on the different media. that too, that's going to possibly be in a like minded mode for wm participant. you may connect your camcorder with a firewire cable on your pc, have top studio or Ulead utility put in on your device and then, pull the video into your pc. those softwares will play the video from the casette participant on your exhibit screen and checklist it besides and shop it digitally on your pc. Later, you may attempt media participant or another participant (i desire VLC participant) to play the document.
