If you look on the front of the drive. You should see a pin-hole that would allow you to push a paper clip into. Its an emergerncy eject and should pop the drive out enough for you to pull the tray open

Take a paperclip.
Strainghten it out.
Carefully insert into small round hole in bezel under drive tray.
Carefully feel for button.
Press button gently in.
Drive will pop-open and slide (slowly) out.
Take computer in for cleaning.
...most common cause of this problem is dust caked on the gears of the drive, causing a failure of them to mesh.

As to why it is not showing, only thing I can think of is it has a loose cable, so the MoBo does not know it has a ROM installed.

Unfortunately, unlike CD drives, DVD drives do not have an emergency eject option. Unless you are super good at repairing electronics, you are going to have to invest in a new one. Sorry

there are two ways to do this:

go to my computer: right click on your dvd drive, click on eject.

or you can use a paperclip, in front of the dvd drive, you should see a hole...that fits a paperclip, get it, and push it in, the drive should open, if not go to your bios, and configure your dvd drive, and make sure the bios sees it...
