Will I need additional hardware if I do need the motherboard?

I've taken a close look at MacBook's spec's and in terms of sheer horsepower/$ you get a lot less than a comparable Windows laptop. Since I'm not a Mac user myself, I can't put value on the usability, availability and reliability of the software - especially for my 10 yr old who's just starting to get into computers. I haven't tried Windows Vista and wonder if it makes up for the poorer usability of Windows vis-a-vis Mac.

So the question is - would you recommend I pay the extra 25-40% for the MacBook or buy a laptop. Thanks!

I recently bought a new computer and it has.....Vista..... I try to play my games but they are kind of choppy and the same games on my 3-4 year old computer play just fine. I just wanted to know if it was vista or is it that my old graphics card is better than my new one. The old card is the AMD Radeon 9500PRO and the card on my new computer is a Nvidia GEforce 6150SE. If my old card is better than I will hope it works and vista and just swap the cards.

The fans in my cabinet (there r 2 fans and my cabinet is of the sliimmer type than regular sized ones) make a lot of noise. Its particularly felt when its more quiet like in the night. The noise has been right since the beginning i brought my PC. My comp enginner tells me that since there r 2 fans;so the noise and the solution he suggests is that i go for a regular sized cabinet where theres just 1 fan. Will changing the cabinet solve the problem and can i reduce the noise somehow without changing the cabinet.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=694227 it shows FSB is 166MHz but on Dell.com the M1210 is listed as 667MHz. Whats the deal? I don't get what FSB speed does anyway, just wondering if i'm missing something.

Hello community and thanks to all who respond! I have a question about the sleep mode on my computer. Whenever my computer goes into sleep mode whether it be manual or set, it doesn't stay there. What I mean is I'll set it into sleep and without touching the enter key or mouse it starts back up by itself. My old computer never did this but this new one does it all the time. Why or what would cause the computer to come out of the sleep mode without touching anything on or around the keyboard? All responses appreciated!

I know that on a regular keyboard you can remove the keys so you can clean under them. But I am not sure on a laptop keyboard. There is some cat hair under my keys but not sure how I can clean under there. Do you know anyway of doing that? Not sure if I can remove the keys nor do I know how to remove the keyboard itself..thanks for your help.
