It probably has to do with something moving slightly on your PC. One case could be a sensitive mouse. If the mouse is sitting so it can move at all (on a slight slope), it could "awaken your PC. (even know you can't see it moving.)
it could also be if you, or something else bumps into the desk, jarring the mouse and waking up ur computer.
If this still doesn't help you cloud try this:
Go to the Device Manager (Right Click on 'My Computer' & select manage)
Goto Network Adapters & double click to open it
Right click on the card, and select properties
Goto Power Management, and unselect "allow this device to bring the computer out of standby"
Hope this helps!

It might be some slight vibration causing movement of the mouse. Try turning it upside down and see if that changes anything.
A lot of systems have wake-on-LAN or Wake-on-ring set up. So if your system gets pinged by something on the network, or if you connect via modem and someone calls your phone your computer wakes up. Pull the Ethernet/modem plug to see if that stops it waking up.
You should be able to enable/disable these through the BIOS set up.

Could be a couple of things. Usually the your ethernet card.
Goto the Device Manager (Right Click on 'My Computer' & select manage)
Goto Network Adapters & expand it
Right click on your card, and select properties
Goto Power Management, and unselect "allow this device to bring the computer out of standby"

Well, my friend had a computer that woke up whenever you went next to it. That's like impossible. But if it only wakes up when you go near it, then that could be it.
Also, when it wakes up, does it say something like Hello, (your name) what do you want to do today?

it's actually very simple...
in your BIOS settings there are wake up functions to wake up your computer, like wake up on LAN, Keyboard, mouse, usb...etc. (any one of these devices could be waking up your computer) : (there are also jumper's on your mother board for this too, but that's harder..) all you need to do is set them so that nothing but say the space bar will wake it up...then it will rest until you tell it to get up.

i ought to leave it on (positioned it on standby). it also saves funds for you, b/c whenever you press that potential button it expenditures more effective electricity than merely wiggling your mouse to get it began. thats what ive been doing for the previous 2 years, and my invoice definately went down, and my computing device went a lil swifter than customary, too.

Do you have a screen saver set to 'on' that could possibly be 'waking it up'?
