Microsoft in it's infinite wisdom made IE7 so that it can not be removed without reinstalling windows. There was a warning about this in the install package. You will need to do a complete, (destructive) reload, and that means that everything on your hard drive will be lost, so do a complete backup of your personal data, and then have all of your program disks handy because you will need to install of your software and setting again.

Ok, this is just a suggestion, but after you have reinstalled everything, instead of using IE7, give Firefox a try. It's Mozilla's web browser. Allot of us use it exclusively.

Also, you should know that if you run Windows Automatic Updates, IE7 will be reinstalled on your machine without your permission.

Seems like theres a problem with IE7's build & your system. I'd first try Windows Update, get all it's updates in & see if it works then.
Failing that, I'd uninstall it (Control panel>add/remove programs), and re-install it from scratch.

I did that a couple months ago. I think there's a safe and easy way to remove it. I tried going to Control Panel-Add or Remove Programs. I removed it but then my computer was worse. It had to be rebuilt. So don't try that. You could try going to the Internet Connections and looking for something there.
