Which password, BIOS or Windows? If it is the BIOS password, you will have to remove the bottom cover and remove the tiny battery inside for 30 seconds, then replace it.

If it is the Windows password, you may be able to get through the "back door". Restart the computer, press F8, and and select
Safe Mode. Then, click the Administrator icon. After you get in,
go to "User Accounts" in the Control Panel, click the user's icon/name, and delete the password, or create a new account.

If you cannot get through the Administrator account, get the Ultimate Boot CD from http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
It has a tool on it called "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor". It can change passwords or delete them.

I hope this helped!

I have a feeling that the seller will never be back from holiday. It is most likely stolen. No decent seller on Ebay would not give the password. It would never happen. I could sort it out in minutes but I will not assist in the case of stolen property

When you buy anything second hand, the best thing is to format the HD completely so that all rubbish is cleared like porn images, spywares, viruses etc. this means you will need to reinstall the Operating System from scratch.

If you can't do this then try password recovery programs.

Hope this helps.

all i can sugest then is that you wait for the person to get back from holiday, they should have thought about it really but people make mistakes. send them an email and just wait. its a bit of a pain, i know what its like, u get something new, spend a lot of money on it and then it dont work.
