hey Rosco
take a look at the amount of free space on your c: drive. If there's more blue than pink try uninstalling some programs that you no longer use, You may have to manually go into the program folder and delete certain folders. then delete all cookies, history, recent and temp files.
You can also try removing certain shortcuts from the start up menu. Reboot your pc and then run defrag. Things should improve after that. But make sure your anti-virus software is updated regularly.
Any q's just ask, ok?

One thing you definitely want to do is run a spy ware scan, I recommend Ad aware by lava soft. Another thing you may want to consider doing defrag...
Now a tip for making your computer faster, add more ram, there are sites you can go to like crucial.com or powerleap.com that have scanners install the scanner and it will tell you the type of ram you can upgrade to, also the amount of ram you have and the max you can have.

It could be a number of things---like virus or hardware problems...You also may need to add more RAM...
Check your processes tab in task manager to see what processes are taking up the most resources...Google the name of processes you're not sure of. Run an updated virus scan...

A good place to start. Now find out what processes are taking all your processing power. Try shutting them down. Use google to check on a process if you don't recognize it. Some processes are really cryptic but you should know some like your antivirus software.
You might have some malware on your machine.

What did you add recently or download?
UNinstall the last few things, usualy some start up program or a anti virus that "starts" up on boot will cause this slow down.

You have some adware or spyware running, that's what causes this type of problem. Go to msconfig and run a selective start up. You should also run and anti-spyware/adware removale program.
