There's a screen in the catalyst control center, under display management options with "Force TV detection". I have my S-Video cable plugged into the TV and it's a but fuzzy but still shows a blue screen (sony). If I reboot the pc without the monitor cable I can make out the boot sequence, though horribly distorted and not at all clear.

The ASUS model number I haev on the box is A9550GE, and it's a 256MB card with TV-OUT, DVI-I and Dual VGA.

I have a laptop, Toshiba Satelite, and for about the past week it has been freezing in the middle of very simple tasks. I haven't been able to restart it by CTRL+ALT+DEL or by pressing and holding down the power button. I've had to remove the battery to shut it off. It also kept pushing the date back to 2005, which I had to fix every time I restarted.

Now, I press the power button and it blinks like it's loading up and then a beep in the computer (not from the speakers) starts. It beeps a few times, then shuts off before trying to turn itself back on. It does it about five times and then completely shuts off. I am desperate! I just spent 150$ replacing the power jack and now this happens? I wasn't even able to save anything onto CD yet!

I have a Compaq MV740 Monitor which I purchased 6 yrs ago. The problem is when I switch my display resolution from 800*600 to 1024*768, the screen comes faded. After 10 or 20 minutes it gets black leaving a colorful line in the middle. It runs fine in 800*600 but not in above it. What should I do? My computer vendor says its too old and I need a new one. What do you say???

Hello all once again,
i am in the process of building my own PC. i have decided on what i want but now i need help with what brand of memory i should use. my system is AMD X2 5200+ (AM2), on a ASUS M2N - E mobo with nforce 570 ultra MCP shipset. the system will be used for everyday usual stuff. nothing extensive and absolutely no OCing. i am planning to install 2 GB memory at the moment @ 667 mhz speed.
here are my choices:

Corsair Value Select 1 Gb x 2
Kingston ValueRam 1 GB x 2
K - Byte 1 GB x 2
PNY Optima 1 GB x 2

all of these RAMs that i am looking at are DDR2 PC5300 (667 mhz). i have heard good things about corsair but never used them and have used the kingston DDR on my dell and am pretty happy with them. Never heard of K -Byte and PNY...... well all i know is that PNY's "lifetime" warranty is not a "true" lifetime in the graphic card department atleas.
So help me out here my fellow yahooians!! :) thank you all!!

my laptop doesn't even detect the discs, but they work fine on the other com. these discs are from a box set of 18 discs. a lot of them cannot work on my standard dvd player.

I accidentally pulled out the USB cord while transferring music from my PC to my Mp3 player (directions say never to do this or damage to the Mp3 or PC could occur). Now my computer is having problems recognizing anything plugged into any of the USB ports - (the camera and the Mp3 player) but it DID recognize and work properly with a keyboard the other day (I have a laptop). Does any one know how to fix this? My friend said I might need to reinstall the USB drivers. If so, how do I do this?

I was thinking that having a display that would strap to the users head, just like how early virtual reality sims did it (goggles), would be a great thing to have. I play a lot of games on my pc and it would be a neat way to immerse myself in the experience. Is there anything like this out there? Thanks!!

System Restore doesn't do it, neither does unplugging and replugging, restarting etc. It seems clear that there is a resource (IRQ) problem, but the system will not let me untick the automatic settings, regardless of whether my logitech mouse or the laptop's mousepad is currently in there. I also seem to lose the logitech mouse all the time, even though the driver is installed, it doesn't turn up in device manager, and when it does it is gone the next minute. Any clever ideas?
