Hello all once again,
i am in the process of building my own PC. i have decided on what i want but now i need help with what brand of memory i should use. my system is AMD X2 5200+ (AM2), on a ASUS M2N - E mobo with nforce 570 ultra MCP shipset. the system will be used for everyday usual stuff. nothing extensive and absolutely no OCing. i am planning to install 2 GB memory at the moment @ 667 mhz speed.
here are my choices:

Corsair Value Select 1 Gb x 2
Kingston ValueRam 1 GB x 2
K - Byte 1 GB x 2
PNY Optima 1 GB x 2

all of these RAMs that i am looking at are DDR2 PC5300 (667 mhz). i have heard good things about corsair but never used them and have used the kingston DDR on my dell and am pretty happy with them. Never heard of K -Byte and PNY...... well all i know is that PNY's "lifetime" warranty is not a "true" lifetime in the graphic card department atleas.
So help me out here my fellow yahooians!! :) thank you all!!

K-Byte and PNY are not exactly small fries. While not as famous as Corsair and Kingston, they have penetrated the retail market pretty well. Memory you find that CompUSA, Best Buy, Office Depot, and such are likely PNY or K-Byte, and sometimes, Kingston. I've seen them all.

You should be okay with any of the above. Go to each website and compare warranty carefully.

Kingston is very good. If you buy PNY, make sure you KEEP THE RECEIPT. There are other brands with a lifetime warranty (Micron, Infineon, etc.) and that might be worth something if lightning strikes or some such.

I have good experience in both Kingston and Corsair memory. I suggest that you look at the manufacturers website and see if it is tested on the board that you have.

Here's the kingston website: http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/models.asp?root=us&LinkBack=http://www.kingston.com

Here's the Corsair website: http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/configurator_search.html

I have only included those two as they are the only ones I have tested.

Good Luck!

i might shop looking. that would not sound like a great fee for that gadget to me. A Celeron processor relatively isn't that great a processor, and dealing abode windows Vista, they say that at the same time as this is going to run with a million gb, which you certainly choose or want 2 gb. My suggestion is assessment procuring. discover the final gadget you will discover on the backside fee, get the specs and the fee in writing, and speak to many of the agencies direct. maximum of your significant pc agencies will meet/beat competitor's pricing on a similar or a similar gadget. i think of you oughta have the skill to get a extra useful gadget than this one for a similar fee.
