The scanner I have Is a Compaq A3000 3 in one printer. when I use to scan things to my computer all I had to do was lift the top lid, place the item on the screen, then select where I wanted to scan the item to then press the scan button on the printer, then whala! it would scan to the selected location i.e. email, user folder, my pictures, etc. But all I get is "pc not available.

Need more information - e.g., scan equipment, scanning software, etc.

Since you are getting a "PC not available," I would first check that all of your cables are well connected. Reboot the computer after you have everything connected.
