Hi! It seems that after the laptop has been on for a while (about 5 - 10 mins) you can no longer use the keyboard, Instead it's almost as though somone is leaning on the z or / key and you have to shut the machine down. There are no viruses or spyware, what could it be? Help is appreciated!

I have a Compaq Presario notebook, it's about three years old, Windows XP SP2, AMD Athalon 64 bit processor, and either 256 or 512 MB RAM (I forget which). Will an increase of RAM make much of a difference- and if so, how much will it take to make that difference? What exactly will be improved with the increase of RAM? I use it mostly for internet, word processing, occasional gaming, photo editing and some light a/v editing.

I have microsoft XP and i turned my computer on yesterday and got that blue screen that they call "blue screen of death"... i hear no obvious noices of clicking or anything like that (so does that mean it's most probably the operating system?) if so... how likely are the chances i'll be able to recover my files?? and will i need a new laptop or can this be fixed?

i realize each situation might be different but any insight into this will help me. thank you!

I have a Gateway 3200S Desktop. I had a 256 MB Graphics Card which specs on the label that listed 400 DDR 3200. I bought a 1 GB Graphics Card for $160 whic specs were for the same (3200, DDR, 400, Desktop). I kept the 256 MB, manually installed the 1 GB myself.

Turned on my computer, and the monitor was on, and continued to read the normal "MOnitor Self-Check" message. It did not act as if the CPU was plugged in. I tried another monitor, same case (so it's not the cord or the monitor itself). I tried several times with the first MB ram still in, just one, both, different spots, etc. No change in the monitor. It's been suggested to me since I didn't have 1 GB in 1 spot, and 1 GB in the other, that I unbalanced my computer. No other suggestion has made sense to me.

Do you have any suggestions about how to fix this problem and salvage my cpu? Is it unbalanced now, and if so how to fix?

I'm currently using logitech wireless (RF) mice at a desk with mutiple computers within 5-6 feet of each other. The problem is, moving any one of these mice causes all of the others nearby to be "frozen out" until you stop moving it. Even though the select buttons on the dongle allow us to keep each mouse and computer paired up, no two can be used simultaneously.

Several years ago, Microsoft's first-generation wireless mice had a channel selector switch on the bottom to allow 2 wireless mice to operate without stepping on each other. But that was only two channels, and sometimes a person sitting at a desk 8-9 feet away would wind up moving the mouse of a 3rd computer (on the same channel)

Is there anything available that might work for 4 computers in close proximity to each other? I need any of these computers able to move their mouse without locking out the others...

All the talk on different posts about graphics cards has be confused on what I strongly believe in using AGP's...Some swear up and down about using PCI for games, but yet there is no advanced 3D support in DXDIAG. So what's the deal. AGP had all full support with hardware etc, and plays faster, so why do people like PCI instead, and why are there so many PCI cards put out by ATI instead of AGP's, and so many PCI's selling on ebay instead of AGP's...? Please help me with my confusion as what to buy for an upgrade card.

Hi, I was wondering about a question having to do with my monitor. I recently purchased and upgraded to a Windows Vista computer, yet I don't think that the OS has anything to do with this (maybe it does, not sure). I was using the computer when I realized that in the top left corner, there is a hue change, turning the parts of that screen to whatever the color was supposed to be with a greenish tint to it (i.e. Blue turns to pinkish purple, white turns to green, etc). What is the cause, and what can I do? Thanks.

I wan't to build a cheap gaming system just for playing games like sacred, diablo II LOD, Half Life, etc. I want to find a motherboard that supports a Pentium D processor and has no integrated video or sound, that will support like up to a 2g.cpu or better. I don't really care if it's an AMD Athlon or Intel D they both play good with games. Main thing is I just want a plain motherboard with no Integration support with AGP to 8x supported and more than three PCI's for expanding sound video, ethernet, etc cards. Who makes a non integrated motherboard that rund stable, and performs...?

I have an HP Notebook thats been "in repair" since December 9th 2006. This computer has had the DVD drive replaced, 2 motherboards, new hard drive and a new heat sinc fan. Not to mention the damage that occured to it while it was away at their repair center! There is a no lemon policy which states that if its been repaired 4 times or more its supposed to be replaced! They are seriously dicking me around. Ive called the 1888 bestbuy number and I get the run around I call the store and I get the run around. They wont let me talk to the manager and when I do he communicates with another employee. This is at the Saint Louis location, South County. Which I have been told this is the store where they send all the "reject" workers! Well anyway has anyone else had a problem with Best Buy not honoring their warranty policy?

when I upgraded to windows xp, I had no problem with the video card and driver, but now starting new with a clean install, windows xp on it's own says, this driver wasn't designed for windows xp, and it won't install it.

what can I do to make it take the driver, I already know it works fine, it just won't take it.

I just put in new memory up to 2 GB. Also I have run the latest spyware and virus protection programs and everything is ok that way. It will just freeze up for 20 maybe 30 seconds when I am on the internet then it will come back. It doesn't seem to be doing it with any other programs but not sure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
