I just put in new memory up to 2 GB. Also I have run the latest spyware and virus protection programs and everything is ok that way. It will just freeze up for 20 maybe 30 seconds when I am on the internet then it will come back. It doesn't seem to be doing it with any other programs but not sure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there

Try reinstalling internet explorer. Go to windows explorer by going to run in your start menu, then type explorer. Select your C drive, then select program files, then internet explorer, then double click on the internet explorer setup file, usually iesetup. Follow the instructions for reinstalling. You will probab;y need to restart your computer afterwards. This should sort out the problem.

It could be your Internet Service Provider (ISP). It seems like there are many ISPs that have a delay when clicking onto a website, then the files seem to download at regular speed. PacHell (SBC Hell, now AT&T Hell) has that delay quite often. Even Comcast seems to have it.

Many times it's the site that you're clicking to that has the delay (try logging into a CitiBank website!). There are a lot of things that it could be.

could be also your antivirus program, when it's making the updates and when it scans files or registry keys stops a part of the applications that are running (including internet connection).
I've got this problem too on my office with the BitDefender.

Nick check your date and time and make sure they are correct for your area. Also make sure your time zone setting is correct. Explorer has issues if you live on the east coast and its set at mountain time zone for example. Some providors have issues if your clocks are not in syc, and we just had daylight savings time change.
