Getting a message warning of a shutdown with a timer indicates a virus infection.

Sounds like it's a virus. If you can boot up into the CMOS settings, then it's not hardware related. You will probably have to reinstall Windows.

w/o going thru a whole truck load of options on this one............id have to say a heat problem, its the most common.......clean out the inside of the tower....make sure that the fans r running ....if the tower is in a desk-type housing it could be lackin air to keep it cool.........if the CPU gets hot the comp will shut down automatically to prevent major problems........id try that first and take it from there........if that isnt the problem get these........these will clean u out just incase its spyware/malware or virus related......good luck

If it just shuts down without any warning or error, it could be your power supply.

It could be a overheating CPU.
