i want to rebuild my pc.. but when i did it once before i had no drivers for anything.. does any clever person know how i can put all my drivers on cd so when i have rebuilt my pc i can install the correct drivers again.especially audio driver.. many thanks russell

i out my usb in the washing machine and i didnt try it out yet! but i put it near heat! would it still work or is there another way ?

My IDE controller is listed under Unknown in my Device Manager.
Instead of my primary and secondary IDE channels being listed under IDE ATA/Atapi, they are listed under Unkown. They work, but being under Unknown seems odd to me.
I tried updating the chipset. I tried uninstalling the IDE controller in safe mode, i tried removing the Inf file, I removed the Intelide.sys from the registry. But it always finds the controllers again and puts them under Unknown. I even installed default Standard controllers but they again end up under Unkown.
This is a compaq with an Intel chipset 82801DB. I would update the BIOS, but its been customized by HP and this is not my computer.
Why do I care, well I think it is slowing my computer boot time and if its wrong, then maybe something else might go wrong. If they work and don't slow the computer down then fine, but how will I know.

Hi
I am a student, school of engineering and I was wondering if there is any device that is light, with high mobility and easy to be carried OTHER than tablet pc that can convert handwritten notes (that include math equations, circuit diagrams, block diagrams and graphs) to text.
I don't need a full features computer during lectures, I just need to convert handwritten notes to text, so I don't find it worthy to spend money on a tablet pc that I don't really need.
Any idea?

my computer keeps loosing its connection 3 times a day, everyday,and it always happens at 9 am, 4pm and 9pm,it disconnects for about an hour each time.ive contacted my internet provider who has done some line checks but there dont seem to be a problem with that,i dont know weather or not i have messed about with the settings in some way so that makes this problem occur,if anyone know how to sort this problem please help,i have also tried to restore my computer to an earlier date to try and undo anything that i have accidently done but still does not solve the problem

i am upgrading my 2nd system with a better graphic card ,but if the next card requires a power supply can i disable my 2nd optical drive(cd-rw/dvd rom) and use the 5v power lead for any graphic power supply if needed
will this mean i wont have to upgrade my p.s.u,as i wont be using any extra power as i will be using the power that was originally used by my cd-rw

While I'm working on my computer periodically the monitor goes black. It comes right back to what I'm working on but it's agravating when your in the middle of working on something. I'd like to stop this from happening. Do I need to change a setting or what do I need to do. This has only been happening for about the last two or three weeks.

So, My Mom got a Dell computer through their credit service. Apparently she has been having trouble making minimum payments. She has been sending a payment each month, just less than the minimum they ask for. They are threatening to repossess the computer if she can't pay in full. I've tried to help her negotiate with them, since she has become disabled, but we're not having any luck. Will they really repossess? Any tips on dealing with them would be much appreciated.

I managed to install XP on my laptop which came with Vista (all is glorious). Everything seemed to be working and in order. I installed the sound drivers, they worked. However, when time came to install the display drivers and the wireless card drivers, they wouldn’t install. When I went on the Toshiba website, the driver listed was only for Vista (or at least that was the only SO listed there). What can I do, I REALLY want XP and now that I know that it works, I want to get the drivers to work too. Thanks for the help, I’ll really appreciate it.
