printer trouble with format i believe they call it?

can someone please explain to me how i change the way it prints out the words itype it does two lines then thers like a 1 inch skip to my next sentence

assuming you are using MS word, Go to Format>Paragraph>Line Spacing

I think you are talking about vertical format unit (vfu) control. These are set with escape sequences in newer printers and with a punched paper tape loop in the older ones. You will have to search for the printer model number and brand or even the emulation, to find the command codes for a newer printer.
