Hi!
Your computer may be going into standby mode. If this is the case, follow the directions of the answerers above me.
If this is not the case, the problem could be caused by a few things:
-low refresh rate
*go to your control panel (or right click on your desktop and click properties)
*make sure the refresh rate is the highest possible
-Poor connection
*Check to make sure your cable (from the tower to the monitor) is plugged in and screwed in all the way
*Make sure your video card is seated nicely in it's socket inside the tower and that it is not dusty - Make sure power is off and computer is unplugged while doing this
-If all else fails, try a new monitor. It might just be old and needs replacing.
Hope this helps!

Change a setting
There are two possible areas that are causing it to go "black".
The Screen saver may be kicking in after a period, and then going black. Just right mouse click on the Desktop and go to Properties and either extend the time, or turn off the time out.
OR: Go to control panel, Power Options, then See the list of Power Options, and I suggest you turn them to "Never turn off"... works well if you are working. Especially good if it is the Monitor, you just change that power option

Right click on your desktop and click on the Property button. Then go to screensaver tab, and there should be a button there that is labeled something like advanced options, or power options. There, change your monitor power options go to sleep to "never"

it sounds like it's going on standby. it's just a way for the computer to save energy but also save what you've been doing. if you want to change the time, go to start, control panel, performance and maintenance and click on power options. there should be options to choose how long til your computer goes to hibernation or standby. just adjust it for a longer period of time.

Yea, all of the above. But check your monitor manual as it may have it's own separate power saving settings.

Right click on your desktop, select "properties", click "power" button. On Power Schemes tab, select "never" next to the "Turn off monitor", click "apply", click "ok".

have you ever checked your potential settings. you have have been given it became directly to the place the computer screen turns off by way of itself ....bypass to regulate panel - potential concepts - and you may desire to locate it in there in case you have your computer screen to tutor off immediately or no longer. those settings can get replaced so verify them out. i myself wish thats it because of the fact its quite hassle-free to repair. good success i will verify decrease back to confirm if that replaced into the concern. If no longer I even have yet another theory, yet i think of thats what that's.
