It's not recommended. If you touch it lightly, nothing will happen. You don't want to put much pressure on it though. Besides not being great for the liquid crystals inside, you also chance leaving fingerprints on the screen. If this happens and you need to clean it, just remember to not scrub it and don't use any cleaners with ammonia in it. The screen is easily scratched, and certain cleaners can actually melt the finish.

Sure, nothing wrong with it. I touch mine all the time to point out stuff to people at work, or to my wife at home.

You need to keep them clean, though, of fingerprints, and other junk that attaches itself to your LCD. I usually just wipe mine down with an anti-static cloth. I do not use a Windex-type spray like I did on my old CRT monitors (we have two workstations and a laptop at home, all LCD. My office workstation is also LCD).

Check your manufacturer's instructions for proper care.

It's safe to touch the screen as long as you don't apply a lot of pressure. If you do apply pressure, it will leave spots on your screen.

It's pretty much a bad idea to touch the screen in general, unless you are cleaning it ect.

I wouldn't if you can help it. If you do then do not push hard or you will ruin your screen. If you need to clean it DO NOT use windex, go out an buy a LCD screen cleaner.
