i have a new laptop with windows vista im used to XP so im kinda lost when i go to my computer i have two hard drives equaling 240 GB can i defragment the one that has some files on it? if so how? one drive is empty the other is 80% empty please help thanks

i have an emachines W3105 and it has 80gb. I feel like that is a little and I need more because I have a lot of music, videos and big pictures! I have been wanting to upgrade for a while but I wasnt sure what hard drive to get. These are the specs of the hard drive i have now.

i took a compaq dvd rom that worked fine, i've tried installing it in 2 different hp computers that had cd rom. they acknowledge it being installed, but will not allow me to play dvd. i went to compaq to see if i could locate drivers for the dvd rom and they it says this dvd rom did not require drivers! what can i do to make this thing play dvds! thanks

My pc went insane. I couldnt turn on my pc. The desktop shows the cable is not connected and bla! You know the failure. So i had somebody to check it for me, im not so computer-wise. He told me it is the mother board. My country has a poor electricity conductivity. The guy supposed it is becos my USP was not enough to power it up and messed the computer up. I have alot of important things in my pc and have no backup. Is there any way i can stil save it? Or fix the mother board instead of buying another one. Cos i just got my mother board 4 months ago. ASUS. Can there be another cause of the PC failure?

I went to local computer shop to upgrade my RAM to 2GB, but the guy running the shop told me that my motherboard will burst if i put that much of RAM. So, he suggested me to use 1GB. Before that i was using 512MB, added another 512MB making it 1GB.

Hi Everybody - quite new to this.....

I have yahoo messenger for Mac and I'm thinking of getting a webcam for it......

I am only on dialup connection and can't see myself going to broadband in the near future....

Will the webcam just have a slower frame rate with dialup?
- meaning will the people i see appear slower to me and does it only effect the transmission at my end? - will they see me as per normal for the connection they have?

I'm not too concerned about sound (at this stage)....

any advice or comments would be appreciated....
