pentium 4's are single core running at a Front Side Bus from 400mhz and up to 800MHZ(if ur lucky), Pentium D dual cores are at 800 MHZ, and Core 2 Duo's run at 1066 Mhz much faster. The nextgen Quad cores will run at 1333mhz FSB.

No they are not the same. A dual core has, as it's name implies, two processing cores. The pentium 4 only has one. Also, the dual core 2 has a 64 bit architecture, and as far as I know, the pentium 4 is still a 32 bit architecture.
If I were you, I would go with the dual core 2.
