Alright, my computer, when I look at the box it came in, says i should have over 60G of memory in my HDD on the computer. A while back, I went to download this game, and it said not enough room on my laptop. When I went to check out how much memory I had left it was 2G, but what really caught my attention was that when I went to see how much over all, Max, amount of memory I had was only 23.2. I don't know why, maybe somethings being read wrong, some other person said I shoudl go make a partition, didn't give too much detail on THAT specifically. I just want my fair 60G of HDD, what's going on?

Please suggest if I should switch off the button of my UPS while I turn off my computer and should I also switch off the mains button in this case.

Or should I keep the main button on and switch off the UPS button so that it may keep charging?

Does UPS keeps charging while we work on computer?

Well I was just wondering which would be a better upgrade for my new HP. It currently has 1GB of RAM and a 6150 Graphics/Video Card. I was looking and I saw a GeForce 7950 at Best Buy for about $300. I was also thinking I could get another GB of RAM so it'd be 2 Gigs of RAM. Which upgrade would be better to get for gaming? Any help would be appreciated :)

I'm considering upgrading to a mother board with a PCI e slot and maybe a bigger power supply. Since I've got an emachine I asked them what I could put in it.They told me to buy an "ATX form factor motherboard" and to purchase and install a new OEM or retail copy of Windows.I've got the windows xp restore discs but I'm quessing these aren't what I need.Any suggestions. And try to keep the price out of the clouds if you know what I mean.I'll probably buy a piece at a time until I get it all together.I have taken my motherboard and processor out before so I'm not completely in the dark here.I'm just concerned about getting everything's that compatible.I'm not a super serious gamer but I do like to play FarCry, Call of Duty,Myst and stuff like that.

It suggests:
-restarting (tried that several times)
-disconnecting and reconnecting power cable (also tried)
-disconnecting USB cable (tried too!)

I've tried all the suggestions, but nothing is working! (I have a Dell Photo AIO printer, if that helps)

My motherboard will support the highest AthlonXP (3200 I think) and up o 2 gigs of RAM. I want to speed up the process when working with video. Short of buying a new computer, what will give me the best results - faster processor, more RAM, combination of both.

HP 3820 deskjet refuses to recognize its cartridges when I try to print. It keeps telling me that there is a problem with the tri-color cartridge, and i should remove and re-install. I do that, then it tells me it is the black cartridge and I should remove and re-install. I have had this printer for years, and I used to be able to win this fight, but today I am having no luck. If it isn't telling me vaguely that there is a problem it is stating that it is a non-HP cartridge (I beg to differ). Any tips? I have tried shaking, wiping the contacts, blowing out the inside of the printer, unplugging it, etc etc.

My friend's laptop was showing horizontal lines across the screen, he just came in from the cold and after re-start it appears to be ok...

Any ideas if the cold or something else could have caused the lines and the cursor to appear oddly shaped?

It's a mac g3 i book :D

Hi. I have a gateway laptop. when I got it, Hardrive Disk carried over 60G if memory. A while ago, I had to do a system restore because of a virus, I even got a CD from Gateway (Resoration DVD). Well, anyway, when I got to start, my computer, right click Locak Disk drive to see how much memory I have, it now says 23.2 G of TOTAL memory. I don't understand why? Anyone?

Ok heres the deal... I can be on my computer like now. and all of a sudden the screen will turn black then the picture is back. The picture does not shrink or flicker or distorte at all. Ok, so i got a new game that ran like crap. My friend said he could make it faster. So being retarded I let him have the comp and he called me and said it doesn't work now. I'm like wtf? He told me that he tried installing some more ram that he had from another computer and it was the wrong kind. Then while it was running he noticed that it wasn't reading the ram. So instead of turning it off, he just pulled out the old ram. Now it acts like it restarts every 2 sec. The cd/dvd drives flash like it is restarting itself. I cant even get to the screen to reformat it. It is an hp a530n. I know how to install ram, I didn't know thats all he was going to do. But wtf did he do to it? I called a repair shop, and they said he could of screw up the mother board, (not likely) or he could of "confused" it. How can I de-confuse it? Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to pay $35 for them to just tell me what is wrong with it.

I want to buy a Gigabyte GA-K8N-SLI Socket 939 motherboard for my next computer upgrade, but every site I've been to has them out of stock. If you can find me a trusted site that has this motherboard for sale I will definitely give you the best answer for this question. I have heard that there discontinuing all socket 939 motherboards that's probably why I'm having so much trouble finding this one that I want. If I can't get a 939 motherboard then I can't do my computer upgrade for a whole nother year due to money problems:-(. it is not the headphones, it is the laptop (i've tried about 5 different ones that workperfectly)
i have the latest updates for my sound card
i have a hp dv9009nr laptop
everything worked perfectly until three days ago, i was listening to a video on my headphones and halfway through the video the sound started coming through the laptop's speakers
since the sound will only play through the speakers
i use headphones 2 to 3 times more than the built in speakers

i just got my desktop back in dec. i dont have no games on it and i dont download stuff on here alot. (few songs here and there) my pc has a 512mb memory and a 200gb hard drive AMD athlon 64 processor 3500 and GeForce 6150 LE graphics. Ok so i want to buy the new sims "life stories" and put it on here will have enough memory...will it take up alot of space please help i dont know much about this stuff..oh and its windows XP media if that matters. thanks for your time
