Windows Vista IS the operating system.
It runs itself. There will be no XP when you install it.

Advantage of XP: It is fast and efficient and it is compatible with most software that is made. It is simple and reliable and tested. Disadvantage: It is not that secure and it is not the latest. Advantage of Vista: It is new and secure. It has great user interface. It have so many great features that enables the user to do less. Disadvantage of Vista: It is a bloat ware. There are lot of unnecessary programs running. Over protective on the programs that your are using. It is slow and incompatible with other programs.

It will uninstall windows XP.
There two diff Operating Systems.
Well actually it might put it on another hardrive, in that case you will need to format it and take windows Xp off your hardrive or it will cause you to have no space.

While you waiting for MS to fix Vista try UBUNTU. It's free reliable and up to date.
