Ok, so i got a new game that ran like crap. My friend said he could make it faster. So being retarded I let him have the comp and he called me and said it doesn't work now. I'm like wtf? He told me that he tried installing some more ram that he had from another computer and it was the wrong kind. Then while it was running he noticed that it wasn't reading the ram. So instead of turning it off, he just pulled out the old ram. Now it acts like it restarts every 2 sec. The cd/dvd drives flash like it is restarting itself. I cant even get to the screen to reformat it. It is an hp a530n. I know how to install ram, I didn't know thats all he was going to do. But wtf did he do to it? I called a repair shop, and they said he could of screw up the mother board, (not likely) or he could of "confused" it. How can I de-confuse it? Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to pay $35 for them to just tell me what is wrong with it.

ask your friend to give you back the ram and try to replace the modules. if it still doesn't work, your friend probably overclocked the cpu. take out the cpu and rip out tape, paper, etc. on the bottom of it. be careful not to ruin the contacts. put the cpu back in. turn on your pc. if it still doesn't work, reset your bios, but remember to remember your settings as u will need it later.
