I purchased a new monitor a bigger one, but now theres this blue line going down the left side of the screen which didn't happen on my older smaller monitor. I'm pretty sure the line shows up because it was probably the boundary of my old monitor, but how can I get rid of it?

I currently have a sony Vaio, but the FPS is really slow on counter strike source, the graphics card I have at the moment is Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with 128mb. If possible I'd like to buy one second hand for less than £50, any sugguestions on what to get?

I have a Compaq Presario (about four years old) and when I push the power button on the light shows up but goes off right away. It doesn't really start up or make any noices and usually takes a few tries to get it to stay on. Does anyone know why this is? Thanks.

i have a 200 gb hdd....making it about 203gb total, but its only show 189gb, i kno that its is always smaller but this 1 has some thing that says it will always show no less than 197gb when formated and windows xp installed, i dont even use it as a primary hdd its my backup drive.

OK, I bought a graphics card about a year ago, ATI 9800 512mb. I bought a DVI to HD Component converter, and hooked it to the DVI slot and left it for about 6 months. I just got a cable for it. I hooked it into my TV, and it flickers. I narrowed it to the Green connection, regardless of what ones are in, if that one is connected it flickers. So, I tried the cable on a DVD player. It worked perfectly. So, I narrowed it down to the connector or the card. So, how do I determine it?

Okay. My computer will not turn on.
I plug the cord in, the back GREEn light goes on.
It's steady. The mouse doesnot go on, or the keyboard.
What is wrong?
Can you list a few steps that will fix the computer?

The computer is cold, can it be frozen?
Can it e the power supply?
Motherboard?

Please help

Ok so I have an AGP Video Card and would like to upgrade to a PCI Card soon. So would I need a PCI motherboard? or what....and also how much would these motherboards cost. (note I use my computer for gaming but I don't want one too expensive $0-150 would be fine with me)

My husband prefers a program that will only run on a Windows 98. It will not work with compatibility mode for XP-he tried. I bought him a laptop without an OS so he could install his own 98 CD.
It won't work. This is the error message: "Hard disk boot sector invalid." The computer does not have a floppy drive.
Do you know how to get this Windows 98 to install?

My desktop, ( I have 3 computers ) is broken. The Motherboard is Down. It wont start up. Any tricks?

Well, Can I hook that hard drive to my Toshiba Tecra 8000.
The desktop is an Compaq Sr1210nx.

What can I do?? Please post your answer even if you think it is what I dont need. Cause then if I have a little bit of info, i can work from there and research.

Hi guys!

I'm just confused. I have 2 LCDs to choose from, both 19", but of different makes:
1. a HP monitor, built in speakers, full screen (more square than the other one); and I've had it for 1.5 years almost; never disappoints.

2. an NEC monitor, a regular LCD, but widescreen. It's brand new, with a year warranty.

Which one would be of a better use? People are already calling in to purchase my HP, but I am not sure which one I should let go. Thanks!

and I was just given a 2ghz, checked the price, they are costly. Just thought I'd try it, it looks easy too, lift lever (after system is shut down and unplugged of course) gently pull out old cpu replace with faster one and then put (huge) heatsink and fan from old cpu onto new one. Power back up, right?

used it this morning went away came back and it wont come out of the standby mode...when i unplug it and plug it back in the power light comes right back on as soon as it is plugged in without me pushing the button...any suggestions
