SuperDrive is a term that has been used by Apple Computer for two different storage drives: from the late 1980s to the mid 1990s to refer to a high-density floppy disk drive; and from the late 1990s onwards to a refer to a combined CD/DVD reader/writer.

Its the disk drive that can burn DVD's. The combo drive can read DVDs and burn CD's but the superdrive burns all disk types.
