my battery icon's disappeared as well as my usb connection icon and my sound icon. And there's no arrow by the side of the clock.
Can anyone help me resolve this?

Okay my desktop computer of 10 years finally died! Now I'm really thinking about getting a laptop over another desktop. I'm completely clueless about laptops though? What would be the BEST (inexpensive) laptop to get???

Is a laptop just as good as a desktop?

it sounds easy for some. But am not sure, what I want to do is to install the new VIsta Windows into my home Editions Windows XP without deleting anything that is downloaded onto my computer and without getting rid of any doc. save on to it. Are computer dvd-rom drives restricted to only playing dvds from particular regions in the same way that dvd players are? If so, is there anything I can do to allow my computer to play dvds from other regions?

Am trying to download EI7 on a laptop with Windos Xp (2002) and it says that the pack on the computer is incompatible with. Also when am tryin to change the computer screen resolution , it says that the computer has none and is working with some kind of default VCG I had to re install the windows operating sys. because it wouldn't let me open my e-mails. But now am stock with some huge incons and would like to do in order to fix these prob. My warranty was up 2 yrs. ago and dell wouln't help

it won't acknowledge the usb stick at all. I went into device manager and there is no universal series port tab there. What does this mean?
(ps I have tried the usb stick on a laptop and it worked fine, but the computer won't read any usb devices)

Was wondering, I am presently running a RAID 0 on my system running two WD Raptor Sata drives. Was wondering if anyone knows, seems a number of the stores around are not sure of the answer. But was wondering, if I'm running a RAID 0 on my system, can I buy say a 250gig Sata drive and just run it on one of the sata ports as a sata drive also? I want to buy a new desktop PC that is capable of running complex software like ‘Poser’ and other digital art design programs, that can also run software that can be used to record and edit live music, store plenty of MP3s, and cope with a few up-to-date games.

I’m currently rather captivated by the idea of owning an Alienware computer, but don’t really know if that’s maybe going a bit too far. I want a piece of kit that looks nice and can cope with running the software I want to use.

I have a Packard Bell laptop, EasyNote L4, bought last Feb. It has been the biggest waste of money ever! It has completely crashed several times and after its latest crash the sound card and all the USB ports are not working. Tried looking for stuff on their website, but nothing helpful. Even downloaded a BIOS update - to no avail.
Do I take it back to Currys and ask them to fix it?
