I can get my DVD player to play CDs and PC-CDs, but not DVDs and PC-DVDs. I have retsrated a few times, re-installed a DVD software package but to no avail.

Please help, do I need a new DVD player?

sony .......C-15,core2duo 1.66G, 512 MB, 80 GB,13.3''.2.3 KG,webcam .
ASUS........U56T55DD, core2duo 1.66G, 512MB,120GB,12.1'', 1.55 KG no webcam
ASUS........W73PT23DD, coreduo 1.66G,512MB,80GB,13.3'',1.97KG, webcam

sony and asus-1 is the same price and asus-2 is cheaper than these latter.
in buying laptop , between RAM and HD which one is more important?

in device manager and in devices but it does not recognise or have a icon in the my computer menue where you would normally see your drives : A,C,D ,E... hope thats a bit clearer :) i have added a drive previously it was a 3gig at was fine ?

I just thought it was my USB. but it turns out my other Memory ports don't work either (Smartmedia/XD, MMC/SD, USV 2.0, compactflash I/II, Memory stick/PRO) HELP!!!!! i don't know why this happened or how to fix it!!!!

I bought SimpleTech 250GB USB2.0 7200 RPM External Hard Drive 4 month ago, but I lost all of my line in a travel. I have two hard drives both WD one primary sata and a secondary ide the ide from time to time just up and literally disapears, can't be found anywhere my computer ..... explorer... manager its just gone untill I reboot and its back. I want to build a new system and need to know how best set up my system. I want to buy a AMD 64 BIT Duel core processor and an Asus Motherboard maxed out on ram running 4 133ATA Sata drives for data processing and the XP pro Operating system on a 120 gig IDE Drive, Running with a ATI video capture card HIDIF with 512 megs of ram on board and a sound blaster audio card, will my hard drives still be slowing me down when I want to capture video with a fire wire device and edit and finalize in Adobe Premiere Pro?
