i am goin to buy the laptop, but couldnot decide which one is better and more suitable to me!

sony and asus-1 is the same price and asus-2 is cheaper than these latter.

For HDD, you may want the 120GB if you need a lot of storage, like downloaded music, movies, pictures. If you only need your laptop for school documents, and browsing the net, 80GB may be enough. Anyway, try to know how much space you are using right now on your PC (if you have one) and consider how long it took you to gather that much data. This will give you an idea how much space you will be needing in the next few years.

For processor, Core 2 is what they replaced Pentium with. I guess it's better to go for Core 2 than Core. But again, if you'll use it only for school documents, movie viewing, listening to music, browsing etc, you can settle for Core, as it is much cheaper.

For weight, consider: will you be bringing the laptop around much? It pays to get a light one.

So, between Sony and Asus1. Get Asus1.

And if Asus1 is way more expensive than Asus2, get Asus2.

PS. Re RAM and HDD. It's good to get a bigger RAM. For HDD, depends on whether you need a lot of storage or not.

Ram is good to have atleast 512MB-1GB
Hard drive depends on how much you will store on it (music/pictures). 80GB is ok for must users.
