help i reformated my p,c and renewed windows xp ive somehow managed to knock off all audio can somone help me to restor sound to my p.c please thank you

You should have a CD with drivers somewhere - Drivers are the software that make the hardware work.
If you go into device manager via 'System' (classic view) in the control panel, you'lll probably see some yellow exclamation marks or question marks on some devices - This means the PC sees the devices but doesn't know what to do with them or further attention is needed to make them work - hence driver installation.
Have a look for a CD with media drivers - Audio etc and let me when you find it.

After installation completion, did you Install:
Motherboard utilities AND DRIVERS from the motherboard CD
Utilities and drivers for audio and graphic cards
Go to www.microsoft.com, UPDATE and let that site update
you system
Go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, review all TABS. Make sure MUTE is not checked

Think it will have just went to mute. Where time is at bottom right hand side of screen show other icons. Your see speaker left click it and see if mute is clicked on or if volume is low.

Hopefully you stil have your mainboard utility cd. You will find the necessary drivers on there, including the sound. Install them all.
