For what apps?
I would agree that you uninstall and reinstall the drivers, but that may not be the issue. If the source app is reading a file or disc incorrectly, then that may be the start of the problem.
If you can swap out the sound card for something else, that will help you diagnose, or plug in a headset and see if the pitch and speed issue is the same; if it is the same, then it is not the card driver, or the card, it is the app you are using to play the file.

Sounds like it is being over driven ,
do you have an adjustment to scale it back a bit ?
