i have a number of 30 minutes DVDs and want to transfer them into larger ones, to make them play longer. is it possible? or, am i trying in vain?

My internal CD Rom drive doesn't work. Sometimes the door won't open, but when it does and I insert a CD, I keep getting messages that there is no CD in the drive. Other times it just doesn't recognize the drive at all. I am a NOVICE, and a poor one at that. I would love to either: replace the CD rom drive if it is easy enough, or get an external CD rom drive, but don't know if it would be recognized. I have a Dell Dimension 2400.

So which hardware? Power supply? RAM?
Computer: Windows XP, 1GB Ram (1 of the 512 MB sticks is cheap RAM, though), and P4 2.4 GHz, Geforce 6200 256 MB, and generic 350 PSU.

I need a color printer that delivers excellent documents and photographs of different sizes. I prefer a machine that does not require a change of cartridges every 15 minutes (as my Brothers printer does) and can continue to print if I'm out of a particular toner.

My MacBook (I just got it this year) sometimes turns off by itself. The battery is full so I know it's not that. It's not all the time either, just every once in a while it will turn itself off. I'll try to restart it and it will do it all over again. It happened this morning and it kept turning off, it did it like 7 times in a row.

Does anyone else have this problem, or know what causes it? I did buy the extended warranty on it, so should I take it to an Apple Store so they can fix it or something?

I'm trying to find a widescreen LCD panel monitor that runs 2048x1280. I've done some searching, but most of the sites that come up with people who have dual 1280x1024 monitors.

Does such a thing exist? I'm looking specifically for this resolution, so please no recommendations for less or more.

i've juse roformatted my win 98 and reinstalled win xp. my speakers definitely work and are plugged in correctly. prob is my comp cant even detect the speakers now..it says no audio device is connected. what can i do? please please please help.

My computer has not been working for a couple of weeks now once I tried to wipe it and the disk must have been messed up or something cause once I put it in their to try to fix it a message popped up saying that the disk is corrupted and now the I cant get even get on my desktop the screen comes up black with a little white dash at the top and now I don’t have any other disks to wipe my computer completely how can i get a free disk form the net so that i would be able to fix my computer plzzz

it is loading up much slower than at the beginning. programmes are taking longer to start. by the way, it doesn't use internet or any communication, so anti-virus, no point. any tips?

I dont want it to be fried !! i go on it for a few hours and it gets very warm and maybe i play some games it gets hot.

It is built to hold heat ?
I am not on it all day it does get rests but from say 9.00am - 11.00pm its on say maybe 8 hrs max out of 14 hours

i just installed a NVIDA GeForce 6200 LE PCI Express graphics card. its working fine, but every time i turn on the computer before i get to the XP loading page, i get an alert saying something like, your pci express slot is running at x1, press F1 to continue or press F2 to enter system setup. what does that mean, and how do i get it to stop comming up. the box says that the graphics card needs a x16 pci express slot. i have a dell dimension 4700 with a P4 please help

i think my daughter messed with the settings, but i can't figure out how to fix it!! envelopes and parts of web pages come out pink even though the settings are black. GRRR!!!!!!

The files copy manually. I only get an error when I try to go through the offical install program. Occasionally it does install. The printer icon appears briefly before it dissapears and it tries to install again-when it does it goes back to the file copying error.
Any help?

i have a new printer which worked on friday, but today it won't. There were 4 jobs backed up on the printing menu but when i select cancel all docs, one still remains, with the message that it is deleting. However, after turning it on and off it's still there. needs cleaned. It will just all-of-a-sudden jump to the other side of the screen. Also, the page will jump to the bottom like I hit the "end" key. Sometimes it only goes about half way like I hit the "Page Down" key. Please advise.
