Take it and the disk to a repair shop so someone who knows what they are doing can look at it for you and give you some good advice.

First, try to start the computer, all the while hitting F8 key. Hopefully, it will show a black and white page with options. Select Safe Mode and see what happens.
You've either caused or worsened a serious problem and depending on what you erased, you may not be able to recover. I have been able to recover both OS and data in various ways, but it takes time, patience, and know-how.
If you have another computer you could hook it up as slave and recover some data.
PS. Don't go buy another disk drive as someone suggested. If you deleted stuff you should not have, and tried to wipe the hard drive, that's the problem, not the disk drive itself.

If the screen is black with a little white dash at
the top, your computer is probably failing the
POST (power on self-test), which doesn't need
the disk drive to be in working order.
You may have a power supply problem, a
problem with your motherboard, etc.
I've taken my computer to technicians when I've
had problems and they can often diagnose a
problem in 30 minutes, which doesn't cost
too much. Also, make sure the monitor is
properly connected to the desktop, and all connections
are ok. If you still get a black screen, probably
not just the hard drive has a problem.

if your disk is bad then your only option is taking it to an expert to retrieve the data, it will be very expensive but its up to you if you need the data. If you have a cd containing your operating system, just simply set the boot option to cd and your computer will take care of the rest, that is of course assuming your operating system went bad and your disk is ok, either way the setup will tell you. Another option is running a disk utility program the same way from the boot cd option and running some diagnostics and attempting to format the disk, if that fails you might try a low level format, if that fails buy a new disk.

Here's the problem, if your hard drive is in fact corrupted having a restore CD won't fix the problem. If you have a corrupted hard drive there is not much you can about it other then trashing it and buying a new one. Now if you want you can send the hard drive into a hard drive repair place and they can try and fix it but the cost of that will be several thousands of dollars and there is no gaurantee it will be fixed. Best bet is just buy a new hard drive and start over from strach w/ a new drive. Good Luck

The same thing happened to my computer, or at least I think we had the same problem. It would NEVER start. It would begin to restart then it would end in a black screen...It frustrated me SO much. I ended up taking it to a computer-fixing company. That's your best bet.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
