My MacBook (I just got it this year) sometimes turns off by itself. The battery is full so I know it's not that. It's not all the time either, just every once in a while it will turn itself off. I'll try to restart it and it will do it all over again. It happened this morning and it kept turning off, it did it like 7 times in a row.

Does anyone else have this problem, or know what causes it? I did buy the extended warranty on it, so should I take it to an Apple Store so they can fix it or something?

Take it back and have it diaganosed by Apple. My daughter had the same thing happen and they fixed it up the same day. It was the battery. She even had a permanant color mark on the keyboard and they replaced it without asking.

Well, in my opinion, it seems like it programmed itself to shut down at a certain time because all computers have that program to do so. But, I do not think it is that for if that were the case, it would shutdown everyday and it would not turn on until a specified time. If you have the Windows XP Home Edition for an operating system, here is what you can do before you take it to a shop: Follow this link and download the following software:

What this program does, is it monitors all the hardware/software in your computer and it also tells you the running temperature and running speed of your CPU fan, and other things. This program is entirely free, for is is Freeware. If this program does not help, than contact a certified Apple technician to get help right away, for the problem may result in loos of data.
