I installed windows vista and when it finshed I booted up and it had not installed my computer video card that is intel. It is using some generic video card that is VGA. So I went to BIOS and tried to disable that card...if I could. So I saw something that said something about disabling video cards. So I did. I had disabled the card and then I rebooted the computer. but after that THERE WAS A BLANK SCREEN ON MY COMPUTER! I dont know how to reenable the video card if I cant get into BIOS without seeing what I am doing since I cant see anything but a blank scree.

Can you please tell me a way..I had taken out the battery on the motherboard and that did not help.

:I have this emachines destop and i have a new laptop(for my son) I installed D-link router on desktop and i use Belkin wireless G USB network adapter (on laptop) . We are able to use it for almost 30 minutes and then we get discconected, I check DSL modem (speedstream 4100 ) from at & t and disconnect everything on modem and wait then connect again. Same thing for the last 2 weeks. Also on laptop says that I am on an UNSECURED network and other maybe able to see what I do. I see 3 nick names from someone ( I don't know from where or who),but there is a small yellow lock on the nick (secure network) How can I do it on mine?( Have a secure and safe use on laptop?) I like to share but not my onfo or every keystroke we do. Your help will be apreciated. Have a nice 2007

Sometimes the error shows when I try to start up , other times it starts no problem, but a couple of keys will stick, .Not stick down ,just keep repeating.

i just bought a new 64 bit mother board with a 64 bit athlon proccesor and i put 4 gb of ram. the cmp won't start.it gives me a beepbeep.that's iti loaded the windows xp cd formatted my harddrive after installin the hardware but it still doesn't work it goes back to the windows xp setupplz help

I have a Lite-on DVDRW_SOHW-1693S burner. It worked perfectly for 1 year. Now, it suddently started showing files of the first session burned on the disk (Multiseesion data DVD)[used Nero 7 Burning ROM]. I tried opening the same disk on another person's computer (with another DVD burner) and it showed all files from all sessions. My DVD Writer used to read all the seesions before but suddently stopped and displays only the first session. How do I reset the DVD burner to original settings/ fix the problem some other way(without using ISObuster)?

I used to have a logitech quickcam chat and upgraded to a Logitech Quickcam pro 5000 I install software update it and when i plug in cam its not seen and either computer locks up or restarts any ideas. it has a mic on it could there be a conflict with mic on head phones (its unplugged at the moment. My old cam worked fine but the newer and more expensives ones don't work.I tried a microsoft lifecam VX-6000 wiht the same results so returned and got the logitech one

Since then, the clock does not work anymore stating 00:00

I have a computer that I've been borrowing on a long-term basis, but will soon have to return it. So I got a (Maxtor 200GB) External Hard Drive this Christmas, hoping to copy EVERYTHING, including the operating system, off of the three separate drives in this computer.
But I'm not really sure that it's possible, or how I would go about doing it -if it is-, OR whether it will even be useable--off someone else's PC, or off the PC or laptop that I eventually will get.
I also know that, because I've been engaging in trial and error learning and customization on this 'loaner,' that I've probably got a lot of worthless, repeated, and maybe even bad files (no viruses tho...2 free apps keep me safe there, I hope)!!
What to do? Where to start?
Does anybody know FOR SURE?

have an amd 1.2gh processor with nvisia video and nvidia mcp contollers. have some brand- unknown- pci device, multimedia audio controller and sm bus controller on system. am running xp pro 2002 edition. have downloaded latest drivers for the video and audio from nvidia. problem is this- i don't have drivers for the three unknown devices. sound on warnings but nothing when i try to play video downloads or media player 11. windows update does not have the drivers for the unknowns and i don't know what else to do. speakers are in acerview 7156a and they were working before i reinstalled xp pro due to update prblems. now they dont work and i haven't a clue as to what to do next. i checked configurations for the audio and everything is good and enabled. could it be midi problem? or what other problems could i be having that i can fix without driving myself nuts. the unknowns are listed under other devices but have no name, just a yellow question mark next to them. anyone able to help me?

i would like to check if it needs reseating or clean up. my pc has start up problems and beeps unless the ps/2 keyboard is disconnected. using another ps/2 keyboard did not solve the problem. using a usb keyboard might help but i would like to find root of problem.

So now I cant see anything on the screen and a right click of the mouse button doesnt show anything. I can run programs through task manager, and am sure that the files would be in the recycle bin but am unsure how to access it without using the desktop. So does anyone have a solution? I want to run a program that requires minimum 256 b of ram and it won't run without that can you tell me any software that will increase the amount of RAM by using some part of my Hard Disk's Memory as RAM ( I only want that my compuuter displays my PC specs as it is having 256 MB of RAM)

I've been playing civilization IV this week, and the computer will randomly lock up and freeze after playing for awhile. I think it may have something to do with the video card, beacuse the temperature was at least 65 degress Celcius when my computer rebooted.
