Disconnect the power.

Unscrew the case and open it - preferably wear an anti-static wristband or stand on stone/wood not carpet while you do so.

The fan is the big black box sitting over the motherboard, use an airbrush to gently remove the dust.

Screw the case back up.

Reconnect to power supply.

Don't be so positive on the fans be clogged. They are loud and whirring, they do come on when the computer gets to a certain temperature but there are many reasons that can cause overheating.

A virus or spyware can cause applications to constantly run.
A piece of hardware may have failed.
etc...

Nehoo, if your fans are clogged up that much, then compressed air sprayed directly into the fan area (turn the computer off first tho) may clean things up. If that doesn't do it, the case may have to be removed and a bit of spring cleaning would be in order.

Bottom line ~ Heat Kills Electronic components! Fix it or get someone to help!!

It also could simply be the bearings in the fan are worn or just squeaky, if you could get to the fan' bearings, then a little 3 in 1 oil (machine grade oil) would do the trick!

Good Luck

xovenusxo - you have a serious problem girlfriend, i have read the question this woman asked that you are referring to with your comment. Do you make a habit of harassing people, from what i can see you are just deliberately having a dig at this person and seem to be enjoying it. Your ignoring the facts and making up your own story about what is happening with her son.

Oh and so i dont get reported for not answering...i agree its your fan, get your husband to have a look for you, and good luck with your son.

It could be your fan. Have you dusted it lately? I keep a can of air next to this computer and spray off the dust daily.

Maybe some of the pills you have been giving to your son fell into it. Why don't you take a little break from playing on the computer to go check on him and see if he is still breathing.
