i think my daughter messed with the settings, but i can't figure out how to fix it!! envelopes and parts of web pages come out pink even though the settings are black. GRRR!!!!!!

Sounds more like the printer is malfunctioning than a settings problem.
If you have the latest drivers and have tried rebooting everything you probably need to take it to a shop.

If your printer is a single cartridge, three color printer, the cyan and yellow colors are probably out of ink, or the print head needs cleaning. A single cartridge three color print system prints black by mixing cyan, magneta and yellow to get an off color of black. If you machine is a two cartridge printer, 1 black the other color (or a different cartridge for each of the four colors) your print head may need cleaning or the color cartridge may be out of cyan and yellow ink. Check your printer documentation to find out how to check the ink level of your cartridges. Best of Luck and God Bless Rick

You're probably out of black ink and your printer is using the colored ink. Try installing a new cartridge

You where printing with a colour cartrige. Mixing all colours together gives black. You probably ran out of all the other colours and are left with magenta, or pink as you may call it.

when ink runs low your combining colors equaling black will print pink. Try cleaning your nozzles, they may be clogged. If all of those fail you may need to just go into settings and set back to default...GOOD LUCK!

Make sure your ink cartridges are properly seated. You may need a new black ink cartridge.
