If it's brand new, you need to let it charge for at least 8 hours. otherwise 2-3 hours shoudl do it.

The battery should charge w/i 8 hours, and last 2 hours when new. If your battery cannot hold a charge longer than that, time to replace the battery with a new one.

The power supply is working correctly, since the laptop gets all the juice it needs when plugged into the wall.

How long to charge it up, I believe 4 to 8 hours. When you are using your laptop plugged into an outlet, no it doesn't use the battery.

you should use the computing device appropriate away. yet gain this with it plugged in. to determine that the batter is charged wisely the 1st time, do in basic terms no longer unplug it from the capability source till the battery is thoroughly charged. as long as a working laptop or computing device is plugged in that's charging the batter climate you're utilizing the computing device or no longer.
