win 98 is the culprit
upgrade to win me
xp is still better from loading point of view, but could be hard on u'r system

I do not for sure but you will probably need the drivers for these devices to work.Just go to the manufacturers website and look for windows 98 drivers.

windows 98 is probably way too old to run it.. sorry mate, your in the dark ages :p
you might be able to upgrade to XP but with 98 i doubt it (PC too slow). Try Apple for iTunes compatible with 98, and Sony

The reason your computer does not reconized these programs is that the usb drivers are most likely not installed or the proper program needs to be installed

you have to install specific driver for windows 98 for al usb devices
