i've got a webcam and speaker, and when i set it up, i can hear and see the dude on the other side, but the dude on the other side can only see me. so what should i do?

in windows xp if i run msconfig(in dos prompt msconfig and enter) then i can see all programs which run on startup of computer and delete them(so that it will not start when my computer starts) if not required. but how to do the same thing in win 98 or win 2000. pls tell me

Is it normal for my computer to register as having 480 MB of RAM when I have two 256 memory chips installed? Does this mean one of the chips is bad? The computer works just fine. BTW, I have an older computer. I just noticed this the other day when I looked at the system information. I started scratching my head. I have 2 256 DDR 333 chips installed.

So here is the situation: I was scanning some pics and backing up some files on a CD when all of a sudden the screen turns blue and has some white writing. Ive seen this message before but I cant remember what it says though. Well anyway, I cut off the the computer and when I cut it on again I got this screen with lots of text and at the bottom it says "primary master hard disk fail" then it says press f1 to continue or delete for settings. Ive already toyed with the settings (changing priority of HD, making it autodetect) and still the computer will not start up. So, then I just got the restore cd pressed f1 and this screen pops up saying "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter" so I press enter and then I get this "no hard disk found. System recovery cannot be continued". So is there anything else I can do???

Yesterday my desktop picture disappeared. Today my wife moved the computer, etc across the room, and now the colors are VERY faded, especially on the left, but also what should be solid colored, like the task bar, runs from faded red to faded purple. Windows XP, about four-year old system. Coincidence? Bad monitor? Bad card, whatever that is?
Ran Restore, disk cleanup, no help. Reset display colors, no help. Any suggestions?

I had the tray already ejected and turned in my chair real quick to get something and when I turned back my knee hit the ejected tray. I think it knocked it off its track because it will not go back in or anything. What should I do? Is this an easily fixable problem? Any advice you can offer is GREATLY appreciated. I am a college student, so obviously I live on my computer and do not have enough money to purchase a new one.....:(

I have a hewlett packard all in one T series if that helps. My black ink cartrige is fine, but my mother was told that if you replace on cartrige, you have to replace the other (like batteries I guess). Is this true?

I mean, if you were to remove the glass or plastic, what would be making the images and colours that you're currently staring at? Are those images/colours just light cast onto clear glass? And when you turn your monitor off, why is it black?

I broke the screen to my laptop about 6 months ago. I tried to replace the screen with a slightly smaller screen from another laptop. It works, but the screen is a little jumbled up and the graphics stink and it flickers. I would like to know if I can get some software or druver to make the screen work, or if the screen just isn't compatible with the computer and I should find a more appropriate one. I know this is tough question so I would really appreciate it if I got any answers.

I was given an intel P4 531 3 gig 800 fsb 1mb L2 cache CPU . does anybody know any equipment able to transfer any content from PC to TV? Meaning not just pictures or other files, but movies and the content of viewed web sites and so on. I'd like to be able to seach the web using my big screen TV as a monitor WIRELESLY. Some of wireless media boxes are allready available in the stores but it has been dissapointment, beside pictures and music it was useless. Need something for both- windows and MAC.
