Am a complete novice and now have a laptop with wirless and a router. If I go on holiday can I switch off all at the mains power point.

Just building new system - amd64 3800+, mini atx board with onboard graphics, 3 sticks of ram, dvd writer, tv card and 2 hard discs. The case I bought off ebay turned up with a cheapo 'pegasus' 300 watt PSU. Do you think this psu is up to the job or know of any websites that list the power consumption of individual components ?

The output of a sheet of print just began fading. I've checked out a lot of 'help' and all they do is suggest what might be wrong but not how to fix it. One, that might be it, is about the spooler but I can't find where to go on the printer or PC to fix it.

and then i want to edit the text on it and send it to micosoft word for editing it gives me 3 or 4 different pages on after another in works with bits of text on each page instade of the the one full page i scanned , i dont know if this makes any seince to you

im not very good with computer lingo and equally as bad with computers themself. i have a dell inspiron 1150 laptop and recently the cd drive stopped working. when i start up it would say could not find which im assuming means somehow it got uninstalled. obviously since it doesnt work i cant use a disc to fix anything so i was just wondering how i could get it working again without having to wipe my entire computer because i have many irreplaceable files that would be lost. please let me know how to go about this. thank you.

i have intel celeron with 512+128 DDR RAM 266 MHz 184 pins
means i have 640 RAM with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.My problem is that my computer boot very slow specially systray icon take too much time as u see i have not insufficient amount of RAM.I only have six icon in systray .i also use msconfig & these six my in mostly use icon

Can I connect my PS2 scart lead or the red, yellow and white leads, to my pc monitor and if so where do I buy the adapter?

Can I just connect it straight to the monitor or does my pc need to be involved somewhere in it too?

every time i play a racing game,the sound cuts out from loud to quiet,but when i play a game like doom its fine
my audio is a nforce nvmixer,and is intergrated audio,so is it worth reinstalling the audio drivers from nvidia or update my direct x
or would you buy a pci sound card,as you can pick them up quite cheap,and a sound card is allways better than intergrated options
any ideas

I need to connect an LCD monitor and a projector to my computer. I've tried a VGA splitter but the picture quality drops when there both connected.
I thought i could use a graphics card with 2 VGA outputs, can anyone recommend one suitable for PC gaming.
Finally will i be able to use the two outputs at the same time for example watching tele on the projector via my TV tuner card and using my LCD for wordprocessing. My compuer spec is an intel p4 1.7GHz, 1GB ram, 1 agp slot, running windows ME.

I know that it is not 2.0 since when i insert my pendrive. But when my bluetooh inserted my computer shows that " the usb device u inserted is malfunctioning" i hav checked it more times at the place where i bought it and it works. it doesn't work only in my computer. Can anyone solve this.

I Know most people are trying to find ways to speed their computer up but not me. I Have a P4 processor 3.2 GHZ installed within my laptop (dont ask me why) but the result is my laptop overheats so quickly I can not use it long enough to do what I want.

I read somewhere that you could change the settings of your processor so it runs at a lower speed. Any one know how this is or can be done?
