I have never used a Mac before but have heard good reviews. I never intend to develop software for Mac platform. I mainly develop in C, C++, Java. Any suggestions?

i want to upgrage my geforce fx 5200 to geforce 7800 gs.
my motherboard is the gigabyte socket 478. model is 8S661FXMP-RZ.
Can i install the geforce 7800 gs on this motherboard? is the graphic card supported?

My HD kind of beeps in a particular sequence
This is my impression -
beep...beep...beep...shhhh....beep...beep....beep...shhh
The beeping is not a real beep, it is just the sound of the HD working but amplified. When this happens the red light showing HD activity stays on continually. This happens when I open certain programs like Mozilla Thunderbird, etc... It happens for about 5mins at a time, and only when I open certain programs, or try to do certain things. When this happens, the whole computer freezes sort of. It may be a bad motor in the HD because it is fairly old but it boots up fine.

What if anything can I do the solve this problem, perhaps even just temporarily? Is there some kind of diagnostics I can run to see what the problem is?

If there is any other information needed please do tell...

Can you help me please ?
I just refilled my cartrides as per normal, and was printing with out problems. I went to print another document when the "feed" light (the 2nd light) started to flash and a message opn the computer said the printer needs servicing ? Can you suggest how I can over ride this ? My gut feeling (could be wrong) is that the drip pads are full, as I read this somewhere, I has tried to sponge and syringe them a little and got some ink out, but how do I stop the light flashing so I can keep printing?
I was in the middle of helping youngest daughter out with school work for tomorrow.
Any advice welcome

I had an epson stylus c60-color. It is good then all of sudden when I turned it on, it started making noises! I took it out and checked it out. It was a little black piece inside that just broke! I don't know how that happened ???!!!! :(
So I need a new one now. Looking for a very good quality color printer for printing reports, essays and some pictures. Mostly will be used it for school reports.
What is the best brand for a home use printer at a reasonable price---not so very expensive?

My Epson C84 printer was printing all colors and black just fine. Then the ink ran out and I replaced all 4 cartridges at once, black plus the 3 colors. Now none of them print. I have cleaned and printed test patterns until it says the ink is almost gone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
