I'm a film student looking for a laptop that is ideal for video editing. My price range is $1000-$2000 dollars. Whether it be Mac or PC, give me your opinions on what would be the best laptop/notebook for my line of work. Thanks

buy one with a good procesor lots of ram and big hard disk. very big especialy that u'll be making films. If u wanna turn into a pro go for a mac where u will be able to use Final Cut a great video tool available for mac os..

Apple Imac would work best for you. My son is going to University of Cincinnati and that's what they recommend for their courses on film editing. Final Cut on the MAC is what they use and they produce professional looking dvds with it.

just get a dell ... custom configure it and remove all the software u dont need .. get a fast harddrive like 7200rpm and big enough to do a job on but you can always get a huge external for storage ...and a gig of ram.. and play with the graphics card and processor to see which model you can get the highest ones in .. try to get a dedicated graphics card and a core duo...
