Ripping is putting a cd into your computer and then putting the data on that cd on your computer. Basically the opposite of burning.

its copying the data off the CD onto your computer, so you can play it without the CD, in media player look for a tab that says RIP and there you go.

Ripping is taking a normal size WAVE file...around 30 meg in size, and using a ripper program, rip it into an MP3 size, around 3 -4 meg in size....same tune just compressed, and stripped of similar artifacts, etc.
