what is the best and cheapest Laptop i could get?

Question

i dont want to get it from some pawn shop. a store(like best buy) is where i'd get it from.
(i live in minnesota)
please have a picture or website with the store name on it.

Be sure what features you want or need first. If you get something and have to add later, you will spend as much or more and have a whole bunch of gadgets to carry around. Then you lose the convenience of a laptop. They all are so competitive that there isn't much difference in price. think about how you want to use it. My wife has a 15' hp with all the goodies, I have an Averatek 12' with everything I like the small one bette, the screen size doesn't matter.but it is so handy.Last week I saw one with $300 rebate for one week.
Watch for big discounts and rebates because the new models are coming out (64 bit) The current ones are all you need.
Check frys on the internet for reference.

If you want a new laptop, you can't do much better than the basic Dell Inspiron for $600 or so. Dell.com is pretty easy to shop at.

a dell- you have to get it from the website. You custom build it so whatever you want on it goes, and you don't pay for a bunch of stuff you don't want. they're a good price, it depends on what you put into it.

hp dv2000z - best for the money - $1400 - bestbuy.com or staples.com
or a dell something - $400 - not great but ok - dell.com

Circuit City sells a lot of brands of laptops with reasonable rebates. My favorite brands are Toshiba and HP.
