Right now it is just dark and discolored. It was stepped on.

It would better to try to use the warranty. If that is expired, then you can figure that the cost would be almost as high as a brand new one. But check the authorized repair depots for your brand. Check the manufacturer's website for the one nearest you.

In general, a laptop might cost $1200. The repair may be as high as $600. So by saving money now, you still have that old piece of junk, that might never be right anyway.

AHH, next time, don't leave it on the floor, or in HARM's way. Maybe you would be better off with a huge Desktop. You can get a good one for under $700 with awesome capabilities.

Good luck

Only one or two of these answers are correct.
when I worked at a popular computer store, I came across a company that fixed laptop monitors for 200-400 bucks..to higher if of course a 21 inch and what not.
But an average 15 inch was within tht range.

Funny how everyone repeats that myth they hear about might as well get a new computer.
Not true.
The only bad thing is I dont have that companys card anywhere. i wish I did.
Do some snooping around on the internet -- you might get lucky

Good luck with it

Greetings. My name's Sanjay Patel, and I currently hold an honorary Master's degree in the field of Computer Science. I am aware of, and have personal knowledge related to your question. There are computer maintenance businesses which are probably in your area, however they come at the cost of hiring a professional to enter your home. There may also be some local destinations where you can drop off your computer and wait to have a technician look at it. These options can often be costly, and pretty inconvenient. The answer to this question can probably be found doing a little extra research on Google. A well-running computer can be a hard thing to maintain. From my experience, there is but only One software which is reputable- and consistently reliable for healing sick, slow computers. Reimage™ is a world-renown, easy to use software designed by Forensic scientists and made for the average person. This thing will fix literally just about ANY problem you could possibly be having with your PC. Reimage was recommended to me by a Professor during my 2nd year of Graduate school.

Look for an AS-IS laptop on EBAY with a good screen.
Get a technician friend to swap them out.

Cheaper than a repair shop.

$20 to $140 depending on model

Usually, more than the laptop is worth. Most people just plug a monitor in and use it for a desktop. Not many warranties cover being stepped on.

Normally, it costs about the same to get a new laptop, however if you have got house insurance you might be able to get the laptop fixed using that.

Depends on make and model.

Look around on eBay - also depends on if you need someone to do the work for you or not.
